This fund promotes environmental and social characteristics through its investments, but does not target sustainable investments as a goal.

The fund promotes the environmental characteristic of reduced carbon footprint. It also promotes the social characteristics of public health and more efficient long-term care. The fulfillment of these promotional characteristics is measured based on specific sustainability indicators presented below under the heading "Methods for Environmental and Social Characteristics."

The fund management company continuously considers the principal adverse impacts of investment decisions on sustainable development in all its management.

The fund is an actively managed equity fund focusing on Nordic technology companies whose products and/or services are characterized by high technical content and companies whose activities are characterized by a high degree of research and development for their own or others' accounts.

The fund applies sustainability in its investment process through three main strategies: inclusion, exclusion, and influence. The fund managers ensure that the environmental and social characteristics the fund has committed to promoting are adhered to. This is done by ensuring that the fund excludes products and services that may counteract sustainable development. The managers also monitor that the companies in which the fund invests do not violate international norms and conventions. The fund applies ongoing monitoring at the holding level to ensure that companies operating in sectors excluded by the fund and/or companies that violate international norms and conventions are not included in the fund. Information about each individual company in the fund is obtained from the data provider MSCI and other external providers.

The fund management company has due diligence procedures in place to ensure that sustainability risks and the sustainability requirements set for each fund are considered in the investment decisions. The managers are responsible for quarterly monitoring of the fund's investments to ensure that the investments align with the fund's investment strategy. As an investor, the fund management company has a responsibility and an opportunity to influence companies to act responsibly and conduct their business sustainably. The fund management company also conducts influence work on behalf of the fund, which includes dialogues with companies, voting at company meetings, and working on nomination committees.

The fund is actively managed and indices are not used to determine whether the fund meets the environmental and social characteristics it promotes.

Rahasto edistää ympäristöön liittyvää ominaisuutta, pienentynyttä hiilijalanjälkeä. Rahasto edistää myös sosiaalisia ominaisuuksia, kuten kansanterveyttä ja tehokkaampaa hoitoa pitkällä aikavälillä. Edistämien ominaisuuksien toteutumista mitataan erityisten kestävyysindikaattoreiden avulla, jotka esitetään alla otsikon ”Menetelmät ympäristöön ja sosiaalisiin ominaisuuksiin liittyen” alla.

No sustainable investment objective

The fund promotes a reduced carbon footprint. This is achieved by investing in companies with low climate impact, such as technology companies involved in software and digital services, which contribute to better resource utilization, reduced material usage, and thereby, low carbon emissions.

The fund promotes public health and more efficient long-term care. This is facilitated by the fund investing in companies that are involved in medical technology and pharmaceutical development, or related products and services.

The environmental or social characteristics that TIN Ny Teknik promotes

The fund is an actively managed equity fund focused on Nordic companies whose products and/or services are characterized by a high content of technology, as well as companies whose operations are distinguished by a high degree of research and development for their own or others' accounts. An actively managed fund means that the fund company's managers make their own active investment decisions based on company analysis with the goal of outperforming the fund's benchmark index over the long term, at least five years.

The fund incorporates sustainability into its investment process through three main strategies: inclusion, exclusion, and influence. These strategies are explained as follows:

Inclusion:
The fund actively selects companies whose products and services:

promote better public health and more efficient care.

This could include companies in software, medical technology, pharmaceutical development and related activities, or consumer-oriented platforms and digital brands. At least 50% of the fund's portfolio should contribute to one of the stated purposes. Additionally, all companies in the fund's portfolio must meet national and international requirements for good corporate governance. In their company analysis, the managers consider sustainability aspects such as social responsibility and corporate governance. The managers review sustainability analyses from external providers and check for any relevant sustainability incidents, and then conduct a sustainability analysis which is part of the company analysis leading to investment decisions.

The managers thus take sustainability issues into account and acquire a deep understanding of each company, which, according to the fund company, is essential for integrating sustainability into the investment process and thereby considering the risks related to sustainability.

The fund does not invest in companies involved in products and services that are covered by the fund's exclusion criteria. 

Furthermore, the fund does not invest in companies that systematically violate international conventions and do not meet national and international practices for good corporate governance. Therefore, the managers exclude companies that violate international norms and conventions related to sound governance structures, taxation, workers' rights, and corruption and bribery. If the fund is nevertheless found to be invested in a company acting deficiently concerning the above, the fund company will contact the company in question and primarily influence the company to change relevant processes and routines to rectify the specific deficiency. If the fund company's influence efforts do not yield results, the holdings in the company will be divested within 36 months.

The fund company conducts influence work on behalf of the fund that includes dialogues with companies, voting at corporate meetings, and work in nomination committees. The company uses its ownership influence to impact companies on sustainability issues. The company engages in direct dialogue with managements and boards of portfolio companies to influence them towards more sustainable directions. Additionally, the company has the opportunity to utilize the fund company's network and seek connections with like-minded owners to jointly influence companies in a favorable direction.

Fund company's policy for assessing the practice of good governance in investment objects:

The fund company has adopted a policy to assess how the practice of good governance is upheld in the investment objects. The policy states that the fund company shall strive for transparency and good information provision from the portfolio companies, as this is fundamental for the possibilities of effective ownership control, functioning financial markets, and thereby for the possibilities to manage the fund capital in the best interest of the shareholders.

Furthermore, the fund company's view on corporate governance through the various governance bodies, corporate assembly, and nomination committee is outlined. There is also a description of the fund company's view on effective internal control, remuneration systems, capital structures, and equal treatment of shareholders.

The fund company bases this analysis on the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. Investment strategy

Share of investments

The fund company has both internal and external control mechanisms to continuously monitor the promoting characteristics the fund aims to achieve. Prior to investing, the responsible manager conducts a check to ensure that the portfolio company complies with the sustainability criteria described above in the section on the fund's investment strategy. The fund's managers aim to represent and ensure that the fund company adheres to the environmental and social characteristics that the fund has committed to contribute towards.

Furthermore, the fund company also has external control mechanisms through second and third line of defense control mechanisms which are risk management functions, compliance functions, and internal audit functions that will review and control the fund company's compliance with the sustainability information provided for the fund.

Monitoring of environmental or social characteristics

The fund company measures the fund's climate impact as well as its long-term contributions to public health and more efficient healthcare through the following indicators:

Indicators for measuring environmental characteristics:

Carbon Emissions The fund company measures the fund's impact on carbon emissions by assessing the weighted average carbon intensity [tCO2e] of the fund compared to its benchmark index, VINX Small Cap Net. The fund company considers companies that have lower carbon emissions than the benchmark index as having a low climate impact.

Exclusion Criteria The fund company ensures that the companies in which the fund invests are not engaged in activities that are high-intensity in terms of carbon emissions, such as fossil fuels, oil sands extraction, and thermal coal.

Indicators for measuring social characteristics:

Proportion of companies whose primary business activities contribute to public health and more efficient healthcare The fund company measures the total investments of the fund in companies active in health, pharmaceuticals, development of medical technology products, and software for healthcare purposes compared to the fund’s benchmark index, VINX Small Cap Net. The fund company considers companies aimed at contributing to public health and more efficient healthcare as promoting the social characteristics the fund intends to enhance. The fund company will monitor whether these companies succeed in these purposes over time.

Exclusion Criteria The fund company ensures that the companies in which the fund invests are not engaged in activities that are negative for public health and efficient healthcare, such as cluster bombs, land mines, chemical and biological weapons, nuclear weapons, alcohol, tobacco, or pornography.

Methodologies for environmental or social characteristics

Information about companies’ exposure to exclusionary activities and incidents that lead to violations of international norms and conventions is obtained from the data supplier MSCI and other external suppliers. The fund management company conducts discussions with the data provider to ensure good data quality. Analysis is done in company cases where there is conflicting information. In doubtful situations, the company in question is contacted to have the opportunity to give its opinion. 

When selecting external data providers, factors such as data quality and methods for quality assurance, as well as coverage, are assessed. The fund company has hired providers with special competence regarding the sustainability regulations under which the fund company is required to disclose sustainability information. Furthermore, the fund company assesses that the external providers hired have robust methods to ensure the quality of the sustainability data collected, although there is some potential for development.

Data processing varies between different metrics and for different funds. For example, the fund company has chosen not to report estimated data for the share of taxonomy alignment in the funds since the fund company judges that reliable data regarding taxonomy alignment cannot be reported until the portfolio companies have begun to report the extent to which their economic activities are compatible with the EU taxonomy. However, some estimated data may be used for the fund's part concerning the way the fund considers the main adverse impacts on sustainability factors.

Data sources and data processing

The fund company assesses that there are certain limitations regarding the data collected due to the lack of relevant sustainability data to report in accordance with Regulation 2019/2088/EU (the Disclosure Regulation) and applicable delegated acts. The implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and accounting standards from the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group are necessary to provide information on reliable quantitative indicators. Additionally, these regulations only apply to companies domiciled within the EU/EEA, which means that there may continue to be a lack of data from companies domiciled outside the EU/EEA.

The fund company also considers that there are some limitations to verifying the collected data since there are currently neither common accounting standards for sustainability reporting nor requirements for the sustainability data to be audited by a third party.

There may also be a lag in data, which means that the information on which the fund company bases its assessments may have changed.

The fund company has taken best effort measures to collect relevant and reliable sustainability data by using trusted third-party providers for sustainability data and verifying this data against the data collected directly from the portfolio companies themselves.

The fund promotes such environmental and social characteristics that the fund company has good data quality and coverage for. For this reason, the fund company assesses that the fund's promoting characteristics are not affected by the aforementioned data limitations.

Limitations to methodologies and data

The fund management company has due diligence procedures in place to ensure that sustainability risks and the sustainability requirements set for each fund are taken into account in the investment decisions. The fund managers are responsible for follow up the investments on a quarterly basis to ensure that the investments are in line with the funds investment strategy.

Due diligence

As an investor, the fund management company has a responsibility and an opportunity to influence companies to act responsibly and conduct their business in a sustainable manner. The fund management company also influence the companies which includes dialogues with companies, voting at general meetings and work in election committees. The fund is actively managed and the influence is then primarily through voting at meetings, participation in election committees where we are offered such a place, dialogue with companies and in some cases, provided that it can benefit the unit holders of the fund, collaboration with other shareholders. Bærekraftsrisikoene er integrert i investeringsprosessen og blir vurdert ved samtlige investeringer. Bærekraftsrisikoene håndteres ved å velge inn selskaper basert på bærekraftsanalyse, ekskludering av visse typer selskaper samt gjennom påvirkning i form av dialog, stemming på generalforsamlinger og arbeid i valgkomiteer.

Fondsselskapet vurderer fortløpende i all sin forvaltning investeringsbeslutningens vesentlig negative innvirkning for bærekraftig utvikling. For alle investeringer i fondet blir det utført kontroll mot fondets ekskluderingskriterier. I tillegg til fondets ekskluderingskriterier baseres fondsselskapets vurderinger på 16 indikatorer for negative konsekvenser for bærekraftsfaktorer.

Fondet er et aktivt forvaltet aksjefond med globale investeringsmuligheter som er rettet mot teknologiselskaper med produkter og/eller tjenester som kjennetegnes av et høyt teknologiinnhold, og selskaper hvis virksomhet kjennetegnes av en høy grad av forskning og utvikling for egen eller annens regning, samt selskaper med et tydelig fokus på bærekraft.

Fondet praktiserer fortløpende oppfølging på holdingnivå for å sikre at selskaper med virksomhet i sektorer som er ekskludert av fondet, og/eller selskaper som bryter mot internasjonale normer og konvensjoner, ikke får plass i fondet. Informasjon om hvert enkelt selskap i fondet hentes fra dataleverandøren DATIA og andre eksterne dataleverandører. Informasjonen om selskapets eksponering mot ekskluderte virksomheter er begrenset til informasjon som gjøres tilgjengelig fra selskapene selv. Det betyr at det ikke alltid er mulig å sikre den nøyaktige eksponeringen mot disse virksomhetene. 

Fondsselskapet har due diligence-rutiner på plass for å sikre at bærekraftsrisikoer, i tillegg til de bærekraftskravene som er fastsatt for det aktuelle fondet, blir tatt i betraktning ved beslutninger som gjelder investeringene. Forvalterne er ansvarlige for kvartalsvis oppfølging av fondets investeringer for å sikre at investeringene er på linje med fondets investeringsstrategi. Fondet er aktivt forvaltet og det brukes ikke indeks for å avgjøre om fondet innfrir de miljø- og samfunnsrelaterte egenskapene som fondet fremmer.

Kestävyysriskit on integroitu osaksi sijoitusprosessia ja niitä tarkastellaan kaikkien sijoitusten osalta, Kestävyysriskejä hallitaan valitsemalla yritykset kestävyysanalyysin perusteella, poissulkemalla tiettyjä yrityksiä ja vaikuttamalla vuoropuhelun, yhtiökokouksissa äänestämisen ja vaalilautakunnissa toimimisen kautta.  

Rahastoyhtiö ottaa huomioon pääasialliset haitalliset vaikutukset kestävyystekijöihin. Kaikki rahaston sijoitukset tarkistetaan rahaston poissulkemiskriteerien perusteella. Lisäksi rahaston hoitaja ottaa huomioon 16 kestävyystekijöihin kohdistuvaa haitallisia vaikutuksia koskevaa indikaattoria.

Rahasto on pääomarahasto, joka keskittyy kansainvälisiin teknologiayrityksiin, joiden tuotteille ja/tai palveluille on ominaista korkea teknologiataso, sekä yrityksiin, joiden liiketoiminnalle on ominaista korkea tutkimus- ja kehitysaste, omaan tai jonkun muun lukuun.

The fund management company conducts discussions with the data provider to ensure good data quality. Analysis is done in company cases where there is conflicting information. In doubtful situations, the company in question is contacted to have the opportunity to give its opinion. 

The fund management company has due diligence procedures in place to ensure that sustainability risks and the sustainability requirements set for each fund are taken into account in the investment decisions. The fund managers are responsible for follow up the investments on a quarterly basis to ensure that the investments are in line with the funds’ investment strategy. 

As an investor, the fund management company has a responsibility and an opportunity to influence companies to act responsibly and conduct their business in a sustainable manner. The fund management company also influence the companies which includes dialogues with companies, voting at general meetings and work in election committees. The fund is actively managed and the influence is then primarily through voting at meetings, participation in election committees where we are offered such a place, dialogue with companies and in some cases, provided that it can benefit the unit holders of the fund, collaboration with other shareholders.
